Quick & Easy Side Dish Recipes
Onion Tart

Ingredients for the dough
2 cups (8oz., 250g) flour (plain, all-purpose)
1/4 cup (1oz, 20g) yeast
a little milk or cream
1 teaspoon (5ml) sugar
1 pinch of salt
6 tbs. (3 fl. oz., 30g) oil or lard
Instructions for dough
Put flour in bowl, press a little dip, stir in crumbled yeast with some lukewarm milk, sugar and some milk to a pre-dough, and let rise for about 30 minutes.
Beat with the other ingredients to a smooth yeast dough, and let rise again.
Put on an oiled round baking tin and press with oiled hands, forming an edge.
Ingredients for the topping
3 cups (12oz, 300g) smoked bacon (ham type) cut into finely diced cubes.
4 cups (1 lb.,500g) onions, cut into thin slices
3 eggs
1 cup (8 fl.oz., 250ml) sour cream (firm)
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon chopped caraway
Instructions
Braise bacon and onions lightly and set aside to cool.
Put bacon and onions on dough-plate.
Mix eggs with cream, salt and caraway and pour over onions.
Bake in preheated oven at 425F (210-220 C, gas mark 7) for 20 to 25 minutes.
Harvest Potatoes

Ingredients for Base:
32oz. pkg. frozen hash browns, thawed
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 container sour cream
2 cups (8oz) shredded cheddar cheese
1-1/2 tsp. (10gr) Salt
1/2 cup butter (100gr), melted
1 medium onion, chopped
Ingredients for Topping:
2 cups (60gr) cornflakes
1/4 cup (50gr) butter melted
Instructions
Toss and pour on top of potatoes in a 9"x13" pan 350F (180C) for 45 minutes.
Quick Mac 'n Cheese

Ingredients
1 lb. elbow macaroni cooked and drained
Instructions
Add
2-1/2 bricks shredded cheese: 1 sharp cheddar (white), 1 sharp cheddar (yellow), and 1/2 Monterey Jack.
1 can evaporated milk
Topping:
Smash enough potato chips to cover top of casserole.
Bake at 350F (180C) uncovered for 30 minutes.
*Use whatever cheese you like. We've used jalepeno cheese as the 1/2 brick before and it adds a zing to things!
