Linda Coyle, transplanted on 3/18/00, turned 43 on 3/21/00
I was diagnosed with PBC in May of 1994; placed on tx list in Nov. 99; upgraded in Feb. 00 and received liver 3/18/00. The artery in the liver was not working, so had two additional surgeries to get it working. The final surgery was to use part of the artery in my spleen. That did the trick and everything is fine. Had one short episode of rejection and CMV, but was quickly back to normal. Had an incisional hernia repaired in August. That was worse than the tx!
After the tx, I healed quickly and was back to work full time in three months. Family and friends were a huge help in transportation back and forth to the clinic for labs and doctor visits. Coylebird@
